Worst Movie Ever......
September 14th 2008 06:49
Wow....................and I through the movie Disguise (starring Garth from Wayne's World) was one of the worst I've even seen.
That was of course until I decided to spend $4 to rent out Journey to the Centre of the Earth...starring Rick Schroder and Victoria Pratt. In a few words, poor cast, port script, poor filmmaking, and poor camera work. Did I mention the absolutely pathetic and woeful acting?
Directed by TJ Scott and released in Jan 2008, this movie is a take on the Jules Verne classis and is set in the 1870's.
We see Victoria Scott play a rich wife/potential widow who hires a try-hard Indiana Jones type adventurer (Rick Schroder) to find her husband. The trail eventually takes them to a cave which lo and behold.... leads them to the centre of the earth and uncovers a lost tribe and the missing husband.
Oh, and in addition to the rich wife and try-hard Indy, also tagging along on the trek is a token Russian whose only words every now and then are...'Nyet,' and also tagging along is the try-hard Indy's nephew Abel.
If I had to name an actor for the worst supporting actor award of all time.....then Abel would be a certainty! With his crappy and extremely annoying voice-overs, there was a moment in the film where I was hoping he would die off.....or perhaps get eaten by a bear or the natives even!
I can only hope that the new Journey to the Centre of the Earth movie, starring Brendan Fraser is better. Mind you, they can't do much worse than this one!
