The Devil Inside takes home Top Spot with $33.7 million

The only major new release this weekend was The Devil Inside. It did not disappoint earning $33.7 million on 2285 screens. Made for only $1 million dollars the horror movie is easily the first major success of 2012.
Three other new releases started this weekend. Norwegian Wood opened on three screens making only $13K good for 56th spot. Once Upon a Time in Anatolia opened on one screen. The movie made almost $11k good enough for 58th spot. The last new release was Roadie(2012) it also opened on just one screen making only $2,661 dollars.
