Stallone's latest masterpiece: The Expendables
December 7th 2010 16:13
Since 1978 Sylvester Stallone has tried his hand and that Directors chair.
On his eighth movie directed The Expendables he has hit pay dirt again. I watched this movie for the first time today and was thoroughly impressed by Stallone the actor and Stallone the Director.
With an all star cast of action icons and bad ass guys this movie was designed to be a hit. And it delivered.
It was a pleasure to see so many stars i grew up watching on the same set.
One of the highlights of this movie was the comeback of Dolph Lundgren. Lundgren plays Gunner and is great in this role.
The film is about a group of elite mercenaries, tasked with a mission to overthrow a Latin American dictator. It pays tribute to the blockbuster action films of the 1980s and early 1990s, and stars an array of action veterans from those decades, including Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Gary Daniels, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger (the latter two in cameo roles), as well as more recent stars such as Jason Statham, Terry Crews, and Steve Austin.
I have rumors that a second Expendables is in the works. With Stallone you never know who he might get for the next one. Van Dam? Segal?
