Shotgun Review - Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade
June 10th 2008 11:16
This is my first instalment of a Shotgun Review and my main aim for the shotgun review's is to simply ignite some feedback and conversations about the particular film.
For my first shotgun review, I have chosen one of my all time favourite movies, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
If you have been wondering why any number of 1st year or 2nd year uni students have taken an archeology subject as their elective (ie., free subject) then this movie probably has a lot to do with it. Yes..Yes...I confess...I was one of those students and I even somehow managed to pass the archeology 101 subject!
If you want a movie with non-stop action, an awesome cast and want to go on one of the greatest adventures of all time then this is the movie you can watch over and over again.
Starring Harrison Ford as Indy and introducing the legendary Sean Connery as Indy's dad the movie tells not only the story of Indy's quest for adventure to obtain the Holy Grial, but it also explores another side to Indy that we didn't see as much of in the frist two Indiana Jones films.
The film expores Indy's relationship with his dad and dare I say it, we even see a softer side to Indy.
My favourite quote from this film is when Indy's dad kills the German plane by sticking up his umbrella to get the birds to fly in the path of the plane. Indy's dad says;
I suddenly remembered my Charlemagne. Let my armies be the rocks and the trees and the birds in the sky...
Whilst I admit that I'm a bit biased and that this is one of my all time favourite films, I reckon this is the kind of film that stands the test of time.
I give it 10 shotgun bullets out of 10!! Does anyone agree or disagree? Or even think that any of the other Indy films are as good or even better?
