Rumour - new Western

Hello There!
I've just heard a rumour going around that George Lucas of all people is thinking about doing a Western!
Potential stars for this movie are meant to be big Russel Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix. I reckon that Joaquin is one of the best evil actors......evidence by his role in Gladiator.
Has Lucas ever done a Western?
Not sure of the plot details but it's been a while since I've seen a quality Western (notwithsatnding 3:10 and the Assination of Jesse James).
Maybe we might see the Clint Eastwood in a cameo perhaps?
