"Bridesmaid" a hit with over $24 million at the Box Office

"Bridesmaids" opened in the second slot for the weekend with a great opening of $24 million dollars. The film made for $32.5 million dollars will easily surpass that by next weekend. It's $8365 dollar average for 2918 screens was second only to "Thor" for the weekend.
The film starring Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Rose Byrne and directed by Paul Feig was a huge comedic hit.
The plot for the film is: Annie (Kristen Wiig), is a maid of honor whose life unravels as she leads her best friend, Lillian (Maya Rudolph), and a group of colorful bridesmaids (Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper) on a wild ride down the road to matrimony. Annie's life is a mess. But when she finds out her lifetime best friend is engaged, she simply must serve as Lillian's maid of honor. Though lovelorn and broke, Annie bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals. With one chance to get it perfect, she'll show Lillian and her bridesmaids just how far you'll go for someone you love.
Over 1200 votes on IMDB.com cannot be wrong. The fans like this movie. It has a 7.0 rating and a Metascore of 76.
Feig has been working in TV for years but has not directed a film since 2006s Unaccompanied Minors.
