Box Office Breakdown: January 5, 2013

Django Unchained took back over the top spot after one day with a haul of $8.4 million dollars on Saturady January 5th. Texas Chainsaw 3D could not hold on to the top spot. The only new release of the week fell to second after only earning $7.9 million dollars on its second day. The Hobbit stayed in third place but closed the gap with Texas Chainsaw with a $7.6 million dollar take.
Les Miserable(2012) had another strong day with $6.8 million dollars earned while Parental Guidance $4.2 million and Jack Reacher $4.0 million keep their battle on for the fifth slot. Seventh place went to This is 40 again, as the movie earned another $3.6 million dollars.
Lincoln was a solid eighth again with a take of $2.3 million dollars. The Guilt Trip made $1.9 million to beat out Promised Land $1.78 million for ninth place.
