A birder’s eye view

I don’t think it’s any coincidence that “To Kill a Mockingbird” is my favorite book and birding is my favorite hobby. However, I picked up the latter much later in life.
My cousin actually got me into the activity. We grew up down from the street as each other and just a year apart, so naturally we have done everything together our whole lives. He husband had done birding for a while before she decided she wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
So I went on a trip with them but almost every time they said they heard a bird signing, I couldn’t. I knew it had to be me there was something wrong with and not the other five people with me. I considered getting miracle ear hearing aids and looked up some information about them. Once I realized how little the miracle ear cost was I made an appointment and got some.
I’ve gone on a few birding trips since then and now I see (or hear) what the big deal about birding is.
